Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand!
The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.
Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.
Seaford Nutrition Services Department participates in the Farm to School Initiative U.S.D.A. Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. We also serve fresh fruits and veggies daily! In an effort to incorporate these fresh items into every meal at Seaford, our cafeteria cooks have attended cooking classes
instructed by Chef Leo Cabrera. Chef Cabrera is the owner and head chef for Modern Mixture in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Recently, the Nutrition Services Department teamed up with Fredrick Douglass Elementary School
to raise money for the Harry K Foundation
. The fundraiser was for a good cause and donations went to those in need. For more details click here!
